Mazda is a Japanese automotive manufacturer that prides itself on creating cars that are stylish, insightful and spirited, as well as affordable and fun to drive. For more than 30 years, Ford Motor Company has been one of Mazda’s largest shareholders and continues to “cooperate in areas of mutual benefits.”[1]
 


 

Mazda sells passenger vehicles in Iran through a manufacturing and distribution agreement with the Bahman Group.[2]  The Bahman Group has been producing Mazda pick-up trucks since 1959. In 1998, the company officially entered the passenger car market in Iran with the launch of the Mazda 323.  And in 2007, the Bahman Group launched the Mazda 3 passenger car.[3]  In 2010, the Bahman Group produced a total of 36,891 Mazda Vehicles in Iran.[4]

 


 

In Fiscal Year 2011, Mazda held 13 contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense valued at more than $500,000.[5]
