Mitsubishi Motors is the sixth largest auto maker based in Japan and the 16th largest auto maker worldwide based on production. The company is a subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Corporation.
 


 

The Mitsubishi Corporation operates an office in Tehran, Iran and uses Balli Middle East FZE/Arian Motors as its distributor in Iran.[1]  Mitsubishi’s corporate website no longer lists details on the company’s specific operations in Iran, however, previously noted its sale of petroleum products, crude oil, carbon, liquefied natural gas, power and electrical systems, ships, and automobiles to Iran.[2]  In 2005, the Bahman Group also began production of the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV.[3]

 


 

In Fiscal Year 2011, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors held 12 contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense valued at more than $100,000.[4]
